Rivkin Radler, with an office in Uniondale, has expanded its elder law practice by adding two Certified Elder Law Attorneys (CELA). Felicia Pasculli has joined the Uniondale office, while Lauren Mechaly has joined the Hackensack office.
Granted by the National Elder Law Foundation (NELF), the CELA certification is earned by those who have “achieved the highest level of excellence in the performance of their profession,” according to the organization. Accredited by the American Bar Association, NELF said there are over 500 attorneys with CELAs across the nation.
At Rivkin Radler, the elder-law practice focuses on a “holistic and flexible approach to the law, considering their clients’ needs and the impact of those needs on clients’ families,” according to the firm. Attorneys in the practice aim to preserve clients’ independence, dignity and financial security.
Pasculli spent her legal career focusing on elder law, special needs law and trusts and estates. She is a founder of the Long Island Alzheimer’s Foundation and the Family Council at the Northport VA Medical Center. She is a member of the Executive Committee of the Elder Law & Special Needs section of the New York State Bar Association and the NAELA. She has lectured for the National Academy of Elder Law Attorney, New York State Bar Association and the New York State Women’s Bar Association.
Mechaly brings 15 years of expertise focused on elder law, special needs planning, estate planning and estate administration. She assists older adults with legal issues that include estate planning and long-term care planning. She also assists individuals with special needs and their families.
In addition to its elder law services, which includes four additional attorneys, the firm also includes a Trusts & Estates practice, with more than 30 attorneys.
