Forvis, a New York-based accounting firm, acquired the U.S. unit of Mazars, whose New York offices include Syosset, to form Forvis Mazars, creating a $5 billion global network.
In forming the network, Forvis Mazars’ New York city presence has grown to more than 359 employees. The combined firm will move into Mazars USA’s current Times Square office. The Long Island office is headed up by Craig Fine, assistant managing partner, who had served as office managing partner for Mazars.
Mazars USA will join Forvis Mazars, LLP in the United States. The move adds 1,000 more professionals and 14 office locations, bringing the total locations to more than 80, the company said in a news release.
The network is designed to allow Forvis Mazars to enhance its ability to serve clients with international needs, according to a news release about the combined firms. It is also designed to provide access to global reach while maintaining local decision making and market insight. In addition, it aims to boost career opportunities for team members.
“This is a momentous and exciting time for our clients, our profession and our people. Mazars and Forvis have worked together for over 20 years and share a commitment to delivering an outstanding client experience,” Hervé Hélias, the first chair of the firm’s global network board, said in a news release about the combined firms. Hélias also will continue to serve his ongoing mandate as chairman of the Group executive board of Forvis Mazars Group, SC.
“We are well positioned to deliver excellence, everywhere, under a single global brand,” Hélias said. “Clients will get consistent, high-quality, comprehensive services worldwide, and we remain agile and flexible to their specific needs.
“Working together, I am confident that our two firms will continue to empower our people to raise the bar for client service standards, while challenging industry opportunities to support future needs in local markets,” Hélias said.
“Forvis Mazars is built on our commitment to listen to our clients, anticipate the challenges they face, and deliver an unmatched client experience in all that we do,” Tom Watson will continue to serve as CEO of Forvis Mazars, LLP (formerly Forvis, LLP) and will also sit on the network board.
“This new network will quickly unlock new opportunities for our clients and our people, and both groups can feel confident that we are making decisions with their long-term success in mind,” Watson said.
