Local elected officials joined B2K Development executives Monday at a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the company’s newest luxury rental project.
The nearly $60 million development called Sutton Landing at Commack brings 65 rental apartments for renters aged 55 and over to the 7.2-acre property at 90 Hauppauge Road in Commack.
The new complex features a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments with amenities that include a clubhouse with fitness center, pool and game room, sports bar and lounge, pickleball court, on-site storage and walking trail. First move-ins are expected this month.
“We are very excited to offer prospective residents the opportunity to experience the amenities and lifestyle that define this community firsthand,” said David Burman, a principal at B2K Development. “It is a community that not only anticipates the preferences of our tenants but provides for an extraordinary daily experience. We look forward to welcoming our first residents this autumn.”
Jericho-based B2K has created some 5,000 multifamily condos and rentals in over-55 and non-age-restricted residential communities for more than two decades. The company and its Chicago-based investment partner, Harrison Street, sold two of its Sutton Landing communities in Deer Park and Mt. Sinai to Fairfield Properties for more than $190 million late last year. Besides the new Commack development, B2K has two other Sutton Landing communities on Long Island, the 198-unit Sutton Landing at Uniondale and the 139-unit Sutton Landing at Patchogue.
“At a time when many on Long Island are making a decision to downsize from their single-family homes but wish to remain here close to family, community, and the destinations they love, Sutton Landing has become a popular residential alternative,” Burman said. “Our latest offering arrives to the market at exactly the right time and the right place.”
