Two consulting firms on Long Island are partnering to provide accounting and advisory services to the New York-based home healthcare sector.
Rockville Centre-based Brinster & Bergman – a tax, accounting and business consulting firm – is partnering with Smithtown-based Gary Carpenter and Associates, a home healthcare consulting firm that works with hospitals, nursing homes and both certified and licensed agencies as well as companion care agencies.
With expertise in the home healthcare sector, the two firms will provide a combined team to assist and support businesses in this field. This includes assisting home healthcare agencies with strategies for navigating the latest state regulatory and tax laws.

Calderon is an active member of the New York State Association of Health Care Providers, Inc. and the Home Care Association of New York State, according to a news release about the collaboration. As part of The New York State Association of Health Care Providers, she has worked with legislators on health care legislation in New York State and has been involved in many important government initiatives, with her efforts improving health care for New York State residents in several capacities. Her knowledge of the home health care sector and its many regulations places her among the top-level expert executives in the field in New York State.
Carpenter has a diverse background in the healthcare industry, according to the news release. In addition to founding Gary Carpenter and Associates, he also was Vice President of Finance at a national health care corporation. He has worked with health care companies nationwide in various areas, including corporate organizational issues, profit maximization and representation before Medicare and Medicaid government representatives on various reimbursement issues. He has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions in the healthcare industry and has worked with numerous hospitals on their expansion plans into the home healthcare industry. He is also a frequent speaker at both local and national healthcare conferences.
