New Jersey-based Doherty Enterprises is opening an Applebee’s To Go at 403 Commack Road in Deer Park.
It’s a first-of-its-kind concept for the brand, and is designed to offer quick, convenient service. The restaurant, whose grand opening is set for 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 12, will also offer several dine-in tables for those who want to eat on the premises, though there is no table service.
The concept offers to-go technology, with pickup lockers, that is provided to maximize service speed for delivery via Applebees.com and partners that include Uber Eads, DoorDash and GrubHub.
Diners in Deer Park and the Babylon and West Islip area can order through the restaurant’s mobile app, and after selecting to the to-go option, they will get an estimated pick-up time. With this system, the food will waiting for them in the pick-up lockers, which they can access via their smart phone.
“Enjoying your favorite Applebee’s entrees and appetizers when you’re ‘on the go’ has never been easier,” Kurt Pahlitzsch, vice president of operations at Doherty Enterprises, said in a statement. “We’re committed to finding new ways to meet the needs of our guests so they can enjoy the meals they love from Applebee’s in a convenient and efficient way.”
The location is expected to offer various bar beverages including limited beer, wine, and liquor selections To Go, for guests 21 years of age and older, with an accepted form of photo ID.
