Paramount+ has revealed the first full trailer for 1923 Season 2, revealing the long, arduous journey back to Montana for Spencer Dutton (Brandon Sklenar). The trailer was released during the first commercial break of the Yellowstone Season 5 finale on Paramount Network. See the trailer above.

Premiering on Sunday, February 23 exclusively on the streaming platform, the first two teasers from Season 2 were released on December 5. One shows Spencer fighting to get back to Montana following his arrest and separation from wife Alex (Julia Schlaepfer) in the Season 1 finale, and the second teaser (see below) shows Jacob (Harrison Ford) and Cara Dutton (Helen Mirren) trying to hold down the fort on the ranch as they desperately await Spencer’s return.

In the second season of 1923, a cruel winter brings new challenges and unfinished business to Jacob (Ford) and Cara (Mirren) back at Dutton ranch. With harsh conditions and adversaries threatening to end the Dutton legacy, Spencer (Sklenar) embarks on an arduous journey home, racing against time to save his family in Montana. Meanwhile, Alexandra (Schlaepfer) sets off on her own harrowing trans-Atlantic journey to find Spencer and reclaim their love.

Season 2 welcomes Dexter‘s Jennifer Carpenter in the new role of Mamie Fossett, a capable United States Deputy Marshal based on the real-life woman of the same name. Fossett and S. M. Burche were the first women to ever do active duty as U.S. Marshals. They were appointed in 1898. Could Carpenter’s recurring role be the franchise’s way of introducing the next subject of the Lawmen series?

In addition to Ford, Mirren, Sklenar, and Schlaepfer, returning stars include Jerome Flynn (Banner Creighton), Darren Mann (Jack Dutton), Brian Geraghty (Zane), Aminah Nieves (Teonna Rainwater), Michelle Randolph (Elizabeth Dutton), Sebastian Roché (Father Renaud), and Timothy Dalton (Donald Whitfield).

The first teaser show’s Spencer’s tough struggle to get back home. “I am needed in Montana,” he says with a large, bleeding cut on his nose. He warns, “my family is danger, I don’t have time!” as shots of his family members preparing for a fight play. The second teaser centers on Jacob and Cara.

“This ranch is under attack,” Jacob forebodes as shots of the Duttons, their friends, and foes show them arming themselves and prep for a skirmish. “Our way of life is under attack,” Jacob adds, echoing themes from Yellowstone. “I’m asking you to protect them.” The teaser closes on a shot of the stalwart and fierce Cara firing her rifle.

1923 is executive produced by Yellowstone co-creator Taylor Sheridan, David C. Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Ben Richardson, Michael Friedman, and Keith Cox. The series is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution. Season 1 gets its Paramount Network debut this Sunday, December 8 at 9/8c after the penultimate episode of Yellowstone Season 5.
