It’s the final Friday the 13th of 2024, so you might be expecting a bunch of new horror movies and shows at your fingertips this weekend. The good news? You’d be correct about that.

From director Nicholas Gyeney, the supernatural thriller The Activated Man marks one of the final appearances of horror legend Tony Todd, and it’s now available on VOD.
The cast includes genre icons Tony Todd (Candyman), Sean Young (Blade Runner), and four-time Jason Voorhees actor Kane Hodder, alongside Andrew Keegan (10 Things I Hate About You), Vladimir Kulich (Vikings), Sab Shimono (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III), Ivana Rojas (This Fool), and Scott Brown as the ‘Fedora Man.’
In the film, “Ors (Jamie Costa) struggles with the grief from losing his best friend and beloved dog Louis to cancer. The trauma brings on strange visions only Ors can see.
“While he questions whether his mind has fractured or if it’s actually real, a mysterious rise in murder-suicides takes hold of the city, and Ors becomes haunted by images of a shadowy figure. Through torments and terror, Ors must face his fears as he uncovers dark secrets from his past, while finally embracing who he really is, and what he is meant to do.”
A sinister dance with Slavic folklore, Nikola Petrovic’s horror movie Mudrick was released by Gravitas Ventures for Friday the 13th, now available on Digital and cable VOD outlets.
In the haunting tale of Mudbrick, Paul’s return to his Serbian roots unearths a broken-down family home held hostage by secrets. As he confronts his estranged brother, a chilling web of runes, totems, and whispered names ensnares him in a sinister dance with Slavic folklore.

Shudder celebrates the holidays tonight (December 13) with The Last Drive-In: Joe Bob’s Christmas Carnage, a brand new double feature of top secret holiday horror movies.
Joe Bob’s Christmas Carnage will premiere Friday, December 13 live on the Shudder TV and AMC+ TV feeds at 9pm ET/8c. It comes to Shudder and AMC+ on Sunday, December 15.
Shudder previews, “Snow is falling and the bodies are piling up for Joe Bob’s Christmas Carnage, when Joe Bob and Darcy host two holiday horror flicks featuring so much bloodshed that Santa will think twice before coming down this chimney.
“The special will feature a charity auction of one-of-a-kind props and exclusive merch from The Last Drive-In and personal memorabilia from Joe Bob’s over 35-year career. The details of this year’s items and films will be revealed during the special.”
It’s not a horror movie but horror fans might want to check out Sony’s bloody and rated “R” Marvel movie Kraven the Hunter, which is finally now playing in theaters nationwide.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson stars as the title character, Marvel’s ultimate predator.
“Kraven the Hunter is the visceral story about how and why one of Marvel’s most iconic villains came to be. Set before his notorious vendetta with Spider-Man, Aaron Taylor-Johnson stars as the titular character in the R-rated film.”
Ariana DeBose plays Calypso in the Kraven the Hunter movie.
Christopher Abbott (Possessor) is playing The Foreigner, with Levi Miller (Better Watch Out) also on board. Alessandro Nivola (The Many Saints of Newark) will play another villain, but character details are under wraps. Russell Crowe and Fred Hechinger also star.
J.C. Chandor (A Most Violent Year) directed the Sony/Marvel movie.
In addition to the upcoming sequel series “Dexter: Resurrection,” the small screen franchise expands with “Dexter: Original Sin,” now available on Paramount+ with Showtime.
Set in 1991 Miami, the new series Dexter: Original Sin follows Dexter (Patrick Gibson) as he transitions from student to avenging serial killer. When his bloodthirsty urges can’t be ignored any longer, Dexter must learn to channel his inner darkness.
With the guidance of his father, Harry (Golden Globe® winner Christian Slater), he adopts a Code designed to help him find and kill people who deserve to be eliminated from society without getting on law enforcement’s radar. This is a particular challenge for young Dexter as he begins a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department.
Patrick Dempsey, Molly Brown, James Martinez, Christina Milian, Alex Shimizu, and Reno Wilson also star, with Sarah Michelle Gellar in a guest starring role.
Michael C. Hall is returning to voice the iconic inner monologue in Dexter Morgan’s head, while “Dexter” showrunner Clyde Phillips is also back to show-run this new prequel.
The sixth and final episode of Patrick Brice and Mark Duplass‘ series “The Creep Tapes” is now streaming on Shudder and AMC+, wrapping up the first of hopefully many seasons.
Mark Duplass reprises his leading role in the six-episode Shudder Original series from Duplass and Patrick Brice, with all six episodes now streaming on both Shudder and AMC+.
The Creep Tapes continues to unravel the mind of a secluded serial killer who lures videographers into his world with the promise of a paid job documenting his life. Unfortunately, as the tape rolls, the killer’s questionable intentions surface with his increasingly odd behavior and the victims will learn they may have made a deadly mistake.
In the finale, “A mother’s evening is interrupted by a surprise visit from her son.”
How about a Christmas thriller? From director Jaume Collet-Serra (Orphan, The Shallows), Carry-On from Netflix and Amblin is now streaming exclusively on Netflix.
Jason Bateman and Taron Egerton star in the airport-set Christmas thriller.
In the holiday film, “A young TSA agent fights to outsmart a mysterious traveler who blackmails him into letting a dangerous package slip onto a Christmas Eve flight.”
The cast also includes Sofia Carson, Danielle Deadwyler, Logan Marshall-Green, Dean Norris, Sinqua Walls, Gil Perez-Abraham, Tonatiuh, Curtiss Cook, Joe Williamson, and Josh Brener.
TJ Fixman wrote the screenplay for Carry-On.
Warren Skeels’ true crime serial killer thriller The Man in the White Van is now playing in theaters. This harrowing nightmare from Relativity Media is based on a true story.
