The Granola Bar, a growing chain of casual eateries, will be opening its first Long Island restaurant.
The chain, which touts its offerings as “elevated comfort food and drink,” is expected to open a 2,500-square-foot restaurant in Kimco Realty’s Woodbury Commons retail complex at 8285 Jericho Turnpike in Woodbury next week.
Besides dining in, The Granola Bar in Woodbury will also provide take-out through its app, as well as offer catering services to homes and businesses. The entire restaurant can also be rented for events.
The Granola Bar is the brainchild of Julie Mountain and Dana Noorily, who opened the brand’s first location in Westport, Conn. in Dec. 2013. The idea was born out of their first enterprise called O.A.T.S. Granola, which began as a crunchy treat and morphed into a cafe in 2010.
Today, The Granola Bar has grown into the TGB Hospitality Group, which has five restaurants in Connecticut, one in Manhattan and one in Rye, N.Y., a catering business, food truck and restaurant consultancy. The new Woodbury location, which has a full bar and serves breakfast, lunch and late afternoon snacks, will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
“We’re beyond excited to open The Granola Bar’s first Long Island location. Growing up in the area, I knew there was a need for the quality food and drink that we’re known for,” Mountain, a Massapequa native, said in a written statement. “Bringing our fresh, delicious, and vibrant breakfast, lunch and brunch menu to the community I love is like coming home, and we’re eager to welcome everyone with open arms and big smiles.”
The menu at The Granola Bar features a variety of egg sandwiches and wraps, baked goods, salads, sandwiches, yogurt parfaits, smoothies, granola and more.
“We’re thrilled to see The Granola Bar family growing,” Noorily said in the statement. “This new Woodbury location represents our commitment to bringing a sense of community and delicious experiences to more people. We look forward to becoming a favorite spot for locals to gather, celebrate, and create lasting memories.”
