A Sirius XM DJ and a U.S. postal worker have been charged in a drug-trafficking scheme involving 10 kilograms of cocaine and 1 kilogram of fentanyl, which was sent by mail, authorities said Thursday.
Lance Holmes, also known as ‘DJ Love Dinero’ of Hollis, Queens, and Adrianna Lewis, a postal carrier living in Rockville Centre, where charged for their roles in a narcotic trafficking scheme that spanned from Southern California to Hempstead, according to Nassau County District Attorney Anne Donnelly.
Bail was set Wednesday at $500,000 bond or $250,000 cash for Holmes, who pleaded not guilty. He is due back in court Aug. 18. If convicted of the top charge – operating as a major trafficker – he faces as many as 25 years to life in prison.
For Lewis, bail was set Wednesday at $100,000, or $50,000 cash. She pleaded not guilty to the charges, which include two counts of first-degree attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance, among others. Due back in court on Aug. 18, Lewis faces as many as 20 years in prison.
The scheme allegedly involved multiple addresses in New York, the DA’s office said.
“Lance Holmes and mail carrier Adrianna Lewis allegedly rendezvoused at multiple locations along her postal route to transfer kilograms of narcotics,” Donnelly said in a statement.
“Holmes is also alleged to have used addresses in Queens, Suffolk and Manhattan to receive drug shipments,” she added. “His alleged conduct is so brazen that he called a post office in June to inquire about the whereabouts of his package after 4 kilograms of cocaine allegedly destined for him were seized in this investigation.”
William Kephart, Lewis’ attorney, said he would need to “conduct our own investigation into what has allegedly take place,” according to Newsday. He said that Lewis is a full-time U.S. Postal employee, and a mother of a teenage son.
Greg Madey, Holmes attorney, said that his client had never before been arrested, and that a “look at the evidence” was necessary in order to determine if the charges are “actually true,” Newsday reported. He said that Homes has a wife and family.
The DA’s office said the current charges stem from a 2021 investigation, in which investigators packages were shipped via priority mail to Nassau County, and sent to addresses along Lewis’s postal route in Hempstead, officials said.
Lewis allegedly was paid $500 for every successful delivery, authorities said.
The people at the Hempstead addresses were not involved in this alleged trafficking scheme, according to the DA’s office.
In June, Holmes allegedly contacted the postal office to inquire about a parcel that was destined for a Manhattan address. However, the package containing 2 kilograms of cocaine was intercepted had already been intercepted, authorities said.
