This story is sure to get you into the holiday spirit and make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside!
As you know, last month Today show weatherman Al Roker was hospitalized due to blood clots in his leg and lungs. A scary situation for sure, and luckily he was able to go home to continue his recovery — but his work family and people around the world missed their “sunshine” so much they wanted to bring some Christmas spirit right to his front door!

On Wednesday, the crew loaded up with their best Santa hats and went down to Al’s home for a big surprise. Aided by the help of his wife Deborah Roberts, the entire cast and crew lined the streets with song books in hand for the Christmas caroling of the season.
The 68-year-old was emotional at the sight and was moved to tears by the gesture. Host Hoda Kotb said after the first song, Jingle Bells, was finished:
“I love you, Al!”
To which Al hilariously replied:
“I’m surprised you did that without a prompter.”
LOLz!!
But don’t let his banter fool you, the weather presenter said this meant so much to him:
“I just want to thank you all. It’s been a long hard slog and I’ve missed you all so very much. All these faces, it just means the world to me and to our family, my Deborah — who has just been our rock — I thank you so much.”
Aww. Really makes you feel all cozy inside!
Hoda told her colleague the entire Today show couldn’t wait to come out and be there for him before they sang I’ll Be Home For Christmas. As they all parted ways, Al tearfully said:
“I love you all more than you could ever know.”
Back in the studio, the broadcast journalist admitted everyone was seeing a very different side of Roker:
“We’ve all known Al over the years … and I don’t think we’ve ever seen him like that. I think he realized — he knows he’s loved — but sometimes you have to know just how much on a certain day.”
So wonderful to hear! Ch-ch-check out the full video (bel0w):
