Teen Mom star Jenelle Evans is clarifying where she stands with her ex David Eason after the pair were spotted spending time together.
“David has been back recently to visit Ensley [their daughter] in Vegas, but now he’s back in North Carolina,” Evans, 34, exclusively told Us Weekly on Saturday, March 7. “I’m in a happy place in life and so are my kids. I’m glad to show a healthy coparenting relationship to them.”
Evans continued, “I always strive to have a good relationship with my exes for my children’s sake.”
The MTV personality and Eason, 37, welcomed their daughter in January 2018 — just nine months before the pair said “I do.” Evans also shares son Jace, born in 2009, with ex Andrew Lewis, and son Kaiser, born in 2013, with ex Nathan Griffith.
(Jenelle gave custody of son Jace to her mother, Barbara Evans, shortly after he was born — she was 17 at the time — but regained custody in March 2023 after a 13-year battle.)
Eason is dad to daughter Maryssa, born in 2007, with ex Whitney Johnson, and son Kaden, born in 2013, with ex Olivia Leedham.

The pair have navigated a rocky relationship over the years. The Teen Mom 2 alum began dating Eason in 2015 and, after two years, the pair wed in September 2017. Two years later, the couple split and Evans planned on filing for divorce after Eason admitted to killing the family dog and Evans temporarily lost custody of both Kaiser and Ensley.
“We were on bad terms for almost a week,” Evans told her fans during a July 2019 Instagram Q&A. “He knows how upset it made me … David has completed anger management as well.”
The pair went on to reconcile in March 2020, vowing to give their marriage another go despite their difficulties.
“I left him, and I was like, this isn’t going to be good when I go back to him,” Evans exclusively told Us in March 2021. “I know some people don’t understand, but there’s a lot of worse things that have happened in my life than getting back with my husband and trying to work it out,”
Nearly three years later, Evans filed for separation in February 2024 and the pair’s divorce was finalized in July 2025.
“Now I can breathe,” Evans wrote via Instagram at the time. “Went through our assets and came to a settlement, ladies please don’t ever put anything in anyone else’s name but your own. The battle is over! #LessonLearned #Divorced.”
The pair have since been working on their coparenting relationship, reuniting in Las Vegas earlier this year.
“I was required to tell him Ensley was in the hospital due to an emergency and custody,” Evans exclusively told Us on January 21 after their daughter was briefly hospitalized for a health scare. “Things were smooth, and I’m happy we can come together to coparent so well during a scary time like that.”
The exes even had time to enjoy a meal together at The Cheesecake Factory.
“Did we go out to eat? Yes, we did,” Evans added, “because Ensley hasn’t seen David in two years.”
